YCHS Presents 1st Quarter Honors

The 2016-2017 school year began with a strong first quarter as we welcomed our new teachers, transfer students, and the incoming Class of 2020. Yap Catholic High School is pleased to report that we have our highest enrollment numbers (81 students) since the founding of our school, including a full freshman class of 24 students.

The first step towards a strong education is “just showing up.” When a student misses a day of school, they are not able to participate in the valuable learning opportunities that are occurring in the classrooms. For this reason, YCHS emphasizes being present and on time every single day. Our attendance rate for the first quarter was 99.87% with only four student absences. This is a remarkable achievement and we are incredibly proud of our students and their families for their dedication to their education at YCHS. 67 students received perfect attendance honors this quarter for being at school and on time every single day. We are confident that these attendance trends will continue throughout the year.

For the first quarter, 57 students earned academic honors (over 70% of the entire student body), including 19 students earning First Honors. Congratulations to all of our hardworking students for a fantastic first quarter! We look forward to even more of our students being on the honor roll next quarter.
