Endowment Capital Campaign


$99,999 in our 9th Year

As we enter our 9th year, we would like to announce our first capital campaign for building the endowment fund of Yap Catholic High School.  


For our 9th year, we are setting a goal to raise $99,999 to be contributed into our endowment fund. In order to reach this goal, we are going to need the help of all of our current and past students, families, teachers and supporters. We will be creating several promotional videos and social media posts  which can easily be accessed through our Facebook page, Instagram account, and Twitter account. If you are able to help YCHS reach its ambitious goal of $99,999 through a direct donation or by hosting a fundraiser, please reach out to principal@ychs.net . 


We do our best to make the YCHS college preparatory education based in the Catholic and Jesuit tradition as affordable as possible for our students and their families. We do this through financial aid sponsorships along with support from the FSM National Government, Yap State Government, our local community and Church, and especially through financial support from our benefactors in the United States. The full year tuition at YCHS is $700.00 per student; however, the actual cost per student is approximately $1,350.00 (not including our campus expansion projects which are separately funded thanks to the FSM Congress, the Yap State Legislature, the Government of Japan, the Sarita Kenedy-East Foundation, and private donors). 


The annual operating budget of YCHS is currently just under $125,000.00. Tuition is still only $700.00 per year for our 92 students, which covers almost exactly half of the annual operating budget. Additionally, we raise over $25,000 each year from generous benefactors who sponsor students and pay a portion of their tuition to make it affordable for their families. While our goal for this year is to raise $99,999 by August 2020 to add into our endowment fund, our total goal for the endowment is $1 million which would secure the financial future of YCHS for many decades to come.  With the expectation that we will on average receive approximately 5% interest annually ($50,000), we will be able to have financial security in covering our operational costs and allowing us to further improve and expand the programs that we offer.
